The doors are opened each morning at 8:45 a.m. in order for school to start promptly.
It is a legal duty of Parents/ Carers to ensure your child attends school regularly and punctually.
School finishes at 3:25 p.m. (1.10 p.m. Fridays) and it is expected that parents make the appropriate arrangements for their child / children to be collected promptly.
Y Y4 & 5 children must be collected from the Junior School playground. Y3 pupils are collected from opposite the Y3 door facing the Infant Playground and Y6 exit from the office door near the fire escape next to the Infant School playground.
Please do not be late at the end of the school day. Frequent late collections will result in you being charged childcare - see Charging & Remissions Policy.
Your child should know who is collecting them at hometime - If someone else is collecting your child, you must inform the school. If your child is going to be collected by someone else, please let the morning door staff or school office know so that we can inform the class teacher. Unfortunately, it is not enough for the children to tell us – we need to hear from their parent/carer! Children will NOT be released to anyone who is not listed on their contact form until we have phoned you to check. Similarly, if your child usually goes to Friday Club, and will not be attending on a particular day, please inform the office – we will always send these children to the club if we haven’t been told, and this could delay pick up! The children are told to come back into school and sit outside of the school office if the person collecting them is late.
You can also email this information to enquiry@bellfield-jun.bham.sch.uk and the message will be passed on. Where possible, please do not leave it until the last moment to inform us as school is very busy at the end of the day and will delay the message getting to classes.
If a child is not collected at the end of the school day (3:25 p.m./ 1.10 p.m. Fri) and we have had no contact / cannot contact the person(s) with Parental Responsibility, we will contact the Children’s Information and Advice Service after one hour.
